Deck Addition - Alexander
What was once a great view quickly became an incredible view with a simple deck extension. For this project we extended a short cantilevered portion of an existing deck and added roughly 140 square feet of new deck space. Because the client is considering a lower level deck/ patio extension in the future, we utilized an engineered 2 ply LVL beam to carry a 16’ span between posts; that way, if and when they add the lower level, there will be no obstruction to their view from a center post below. In order to make this addition appear that it was part of the original house design, we used all the same products and finishes that were previously existing - from the composite decking, vertical cable railings, and fascia board. Finish painting and staining will take place once the pressure treated posts have fully cured and are ready to accept stain to match the homes existing posts. At that time the fascia will be painted to match the rest of the house trim as well.
